One thing I love about alternative music is that it embraces different culture so openly.

Bands dont suddenly get typecast for having a black singer; as they would in pop genres.

The problem is finding the balance between lack of representation and tokenism.

As I noticed at the Future Marketing Summit; the REAL cause is that there are far too few people in advertising who arent male and white. Just like in government, how can you expect people to be spoken for when no one in power is from that group.
